William G. “Corky” O’Callaghan has spent the past 25 years helping educational leaders utilize the power of community engagement to build public support to address the challenges and opportunities impacting their schools and community. He has worked in more than 300 school districts throughout Ohio and numerous districts and educational organizations in Arizona. He founded the Mohican Institute, a think tank for Ohio’s school superintendents, received two Silver Anvil Awards for Community Relations from the Public Relations Society of America and is the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Buckeye Association of School Administrators in recognition of his outstanding service to education in Ohio. He is the author of America’s Schools at a Turning Point: And how we THE PEOPLE, can help shape their future, Thinking Outside the Box: How Educational Leaders Can Safely Navigate the Rough Waters of Change and The Power of Public Engagement: A Beacon of Hope for America’s Schools. He is also the coauthor of When the Choir Began to Sing: A Story About Awakening the Leader Who Lives Within Each of Us.
