Citizens Want to Meet with Their Legislators

Bath Local School District Superintendent Dale Lewellen is reporting that key stakeholders in his community have requested an audience with their state legislators to discuss the Ohio Department of Education’s proposed policy for the Every Student Succeeds Act.  “Once the state ESSA plan is presented, I believe it will be necessary to organize opportunities for citizens throughout our state to express their thoughts about the plan to their legislators,” stated Lewellen.  Lima Bath is part of a network of 40 school districts in northwest and west central Ohio that want to restore local control of Ohio’s public schools by providing their citizens with a stronger voice in shaping statewide education policy.
