Coverage in Findlay and Lima Newspapers
The Northwest/West Central Ohio Public School Advocacy Network has generated coverage in two major newspapers of its grass roots initiative to restore local control of Ohio’s public schools. This past week, the Lima News and Findlay Courier reported on NWCOPSAN’s request to have state testing requirements lowered to federal minimums so teachers can spend more time teaching. Lima Bath Superintendent Dale Lewellen echoed the sentiment of this grass roots network of school districts in saying, “Let our teachers teach, let our children learn and give back local control to our boards of education.” This grassroots network of 40 school districts in northwest and west central Ohio is part of the statewide Ohio Public School Advocacy Network which includes 140 school districts.
