His Message: Restore Local Control

“Over the past few years, Ohio’s public schools have seen a significant increase in state mandates and regulations resulting in increased bureaucracy and tremendous loss of local control.  At the same time, we hold our breath every two years while our legislators figure out how to invest less in Ohio’s public schools.” This is the introduction by Jeff Langdon for a column he wrote that appeared last week in Cincinnati.com. His column is entitled “Politicians need to invest in our public schools and in our children.”  Jeff is the superintendent of the Deer Park City Schools and one of the leaders of the Ohio Public School Advocacy Network, a statewide initiative being led by superintendents who want to restore local control of the public schools in the Buckeye state.
