Overreliance the Core Concern
Over the past three years, the Ohio Public School Advocacy Network has surveyed nearly 3 million citizens who believe state testing is the biggest problem facing their local schools. In its news report on the delay of submission of Ohio’s plan for the Every Student Succeeds Act, the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram wrote on Friday that the delay “allows local leaders to continue to press the issue of accountability without overreliance on high-stakes tests.” For many citizens, accountability without overreliance on high-stakes tests is the core concern.
